That is massive news if true. Every local club in the land will be after Plunkett with his CV. Only time will tell if there is a fallout as a result of the coach of the year not being reappointed...can anyone reveal why Plunkett was let go after only missing out on a premiership by 2 points?

I heard he didnt want to re-apply for the job - as part of most clubs policies they must advertise the position each year regardless of how good the coach went.

you can add higgs and lord to the list of outgoings for oakers. all going up bush with siciliano. big losses. and also pascu out for the second half of the year as he is going overseas. oakers in strife. pity after coming so close last season.

Can anyone confirm if Alby Gleeson has signed for an Eastern FL side?? Has been the backbone of the Oak Park FC for a long time now, club would not want to lose him.

Given the sad news that forced Plunkett to stand down is there any truth that a few of the senior players put forward their interest to coach in 2012 and requested an extra $20K on top of 2011 spend only to be knocked back?
As has been reported - Raso, Wilson, Scicillano, Clarke, Higgs, Stone and Mills leaving (all played senior footy last year) among some of their experienced reserves premiership players.
Dawson has taken on the role and certainly has a great record at the club - good luck to him!
O'Neill will be a handy addition to their defence and big Adriano Mastra will give Lermy a well earned chop out however Oaks may struggle to back up last years effort.
Great news they retained Glesson as he's one of the better leaders in the comp and had a terrific year last year!
Any chance Doc McCartney, Turbo, Robbo and Magic may return?

Oak Park beat Scoresby on the weekend by 3 goals. No one really dominated but it was a good team effort all over the ground. Be interesting to see if OP can go one step further this year.

Oak Park played Albion and won by about 9 goals. They had 5 out and rested a couple of the older blokes in the 2nd half.
