Airport West INS – Simon Hogan (Geelong) – can obviously play, retired following their VFL premiership win last year
Grant Sykes (Forest Hill EFL) – has played at several clubs in recent years, Clayton (SFL), North Ringwood (EFL) and Forest Hill last year. He’s a mature ruckman and an old school work horse ruckman at that who uses his size with great effect and can go forward and kick goals
James Watts (Healsville) – ex Strathmore junior and premiership player who’s played at Albion and Healsville in recent years
Sam Boyd (Geelong West) – can play either CHF or CHB and has great hands
Andrew Walsh (Geelong West) – versatile & good tap ruckman, quite quick across the ground
Lindsay Scown (North Shore) – North Shore captain who loves contested footy
Jason O’Donnell (St. Kilda City) – plays in the back half
OUTS – Wiggins, DeLuca, McBride, Martin and Carouzou
Avondale Heights INS – Patrick Rose (Wodonga) – kicked over 100 in the O&M last year for Wodonga after winning the Frosty Miller in the VFL the year before in Port Melbourne’s premiership.
Steven Tiller (Corowa) – moved to Corowa following a stint with WWT in the SANFL and prior to that at the Bulldogs, he sets up play beautifully from the back half whilst at the same time taking plenty of uncontested and contested marks.
Phil Smith, Matthew Cravino & Taylor Jones (Williamstown) –
Ed Prado (ex Bulldogs), Nick Dimartino (VFL)
OUTS – Sam Keenan (retired apparently), Adam Bonadio, X. Clarke (West Preston)
Doutta Stars INS – Damien Rayson (Coburg) – played as a rebounding defender who should push into the midfield.
OUTS – R. Hicks (SANFL), Hodgkin’s x 3, J. Gribben (Castlemaine), M. Lynch & T. Brown (Heidelberg)
Greenvale INS – A. McPhee (Freo), S. Brewer (Port Melbourne), A. Maric (however reports he may be headed to Werribee)
OUTS – R. Nanya (Montmorency), N. Raines
Keilor INS – Andrew Browne (Richmond), Luke Cartelli (Coburg), Tumay Hamza (Hillside) Christian Day, Robert Trajkovski, Dean Stankovic & James Condos (Deer Park)
OUTS – Dean Putt
Maribyrnong Park INS – Cameron Lee (Collegians) – won the club and league B&F at Werribee Districts in 2011 and then crossed to Collegians at the start of 2012 subsequently playing in their Premier Division premiership. He is a small type, like his brother Trent (already at Marbi) and plays at both ends, was a half back at Werribee when winning B&F’s and played as a small forward at Collegians. Great right foot kick however limited on his opposite.
Russell Robertson (St. Joseph’s)
Jack Anthony (Fremantle)
Will Slade (North Shore)
M Abdul Wahed (West Coburg), B Abdul Wahed (Northern Saints)
OUTS – H. Ayres, J. Barling, J. Laverde, K. McGlynn, J. DeSousa, S. Smith, S. White, C. Brown and L. Buttigieg (Deer Park), M. Boyd (Spotswood) and B. Hollow (Tatura)
Oak Park INS – Brenden Keast (Cheltenham/Werribee) – former GVFL player with Mooroonpna and Tatura and played on transfer from Werribee 2’s this year with Cheltenham in the SFL and won their B&F, a quality midfielder.
Roland Hall (Craigieburn) – Crazyburn’s captain from the past two seasons – strong bodied midfielder
Nathan Olsen (Westmeadows) – skinny half forward who has good skills
OUTS – A. Gleeson (West Preston), B. Considine (Bernard’s), A. Lerm (Bundoora), L. Ryan, J. Smith, A. Smith
Pascoe Vale INS – Warren Carlyle (Old Camberwell) – played with Coburg (VFL) and Perth (WAFL) prior to his stint in the VAFA. Was club captain of OC before Pacco offered him one of the assistant coaching roles and will be one of the premier ruckman who is renowned for kicking goals also
J. Davies, R. Smith & S. Boyall (all Craigieburn)
Jack Wallace & Alex McLeod (Williamstown)
Dean Soncin (Hadfield, Northern Blues)
OUTS – Jarrod Bannister (Therry), Luke Morgan (coaching Benalla), Josh Williams (Violet Town), Bicer (retired)
Strathmore INS – Matt Little (Bendigo Bombers) – thingy Little’s brother finally joins him at Strathmore following strong seasons in the VFL and his new role as General Manager at the EFC, he will certainly add to their forward stocks.
Todd Grima (Evandale) returned home last year following a few years in the SANFL for Glenelg after being delisted by Geelong. Plays at full forward and kicked 100+ last year with some huge bags of goals in the NTFA Division Two competition Joel Reynolds (returning)
OUTS – Tim Harvey (St. Bernard’s), Daniel Jones (Marcellin), Nick Mazzeo (retired)

VFL Listed Jacob Thompson (G/vale to Essendon) and Billy Iles (APW to Werribee) will likely mean limited games in the EDFL for these two excellent players

Who's the player/s at your club who missed all or 90% of the 2012 season that you'd class as "recruits" in 2013.
For mine - Courtney Johns and Ryan Allan will have huge impacts on the Abers forward line this year!

Never seen Courtney johns get a kick at ANY level! So ill believe it when I see it.. For mine the forgotten man is Vinnie Randello pascoe vales captain. Will be huge to get his skill and leadership back for the young team down there. And can add TK paiti too. One of the best full backs getting around

I agree with you mate, they will both be very good this year, also what other players are going well down there at the moment? And how are Connors, Patak and cubillo looking?

Cubby fitted in really well - if you have a chance try and find the YouTube video of his highlights in the SANFL. Connors also training the house down and his instructional talk has been great. Patak - I may have a man crush on Grub - he will be a great addition and I believe he's perfect for EDFL football. Couple this with a new coaching staff and an active leadership group headed by Mango as skipper and things are looking good at the Jungle!! No doubt there will be the traditional Abers knockers to my comments however the competition is in great shape and will be one of the best in years. In reply to Rodney - Johnsy had a full knee reco surgery in the summer of 2011 - played a bit role last year and hasn't missed a beat since Christmas. I'm happy to be proven wrong however in this instance I doubt I will be!!

Hayden Farrelly if he can get his knee right will be a pretty handy in for the Jets, poor bloke hasn't had much luck..

So with all the ins and outs listed above, how do we see the season unfolding, the top 4 and the strugglers.. How do we think the new boys APW will go this season and will they be competitive??/
And i watched Patak at Spotty a couple of times, he will go real well in this comp

At this stage I'd say the top 3 would be Strathmore, Greenvale and Abers with Avondale, Keilor and Paco all being a good chance to cause some damage come finals time providing they make it. Airport West will be competitive, they've picked up some quality players, however it may take them a while to gel.

Heard a story last night about Todd Grima, breaking an Ankle and could be out for the year? If so, terrible news for him and the club... also heard the groth and Fitzgerald are gone??
If this stuff is true will leave a massive hole at the mores

I was just wondering if Matty was going to be doing his top 50 this year and top 30 recruits for all 3 leagues?
