I think it's great to have Coburg Districts back in the EDFL The EDFL is expanding and CD being within our area is a no brainer for the EDFL. Good Luck to all the boys down there it's a very welcoming club from what i've been told I think that the Lions will surprise many this year

How were they going in the western league? Were they competitive?

The reason coburg dist left the edfl back in 1987 was cause they couldnt field many junior sides so the edfl kicked them out, they did play in the finals this year and were pretty competitive but coming back to the edfl will be a step up from 2nd div footy in the wrfl

I think its crazy letting CD back into the league and my reason is this. Look at there location there are 6 other EDFL clubs within a 5 km radius. (NCS,hadfield,WC,MV,Paco&Strathmore)That was the reason the league got rid of them in the first place cause there were to many clubs in one area. Why doesn't the league try to approach sides out west near taylors lakes and sunshine. I'd say there would be a few sides out that way from the WRFL that would love to join the comp. The league only care about one thing and thats the mighty dollar. More money for them to have more sides in the comp.EDFL is a JOKE.

It's great to see Coburg Districts return to the EDFL in a move that makes a lot of sense for them. Their inclusion will help strengthen an already competitive looking division 2.

Rupertswood - a very progressive young club in sunbury - have gone into Riddell League for 2013 - would have been a good inclusion into EDFL - Abers currently have a number of Ex Rupo players inc 2011 B&F J.Rush, G.Phillips, J.Hine & G.Moule

Trav Smith at Greenvale used to play there too.

Great to see Paul Lacuria pulling on the boots again to play with his mates at Coburg Districts. At 35 would still dominate the league and is a great pick up for Division 2.
