While the season has well and truly concluded much has been happening off the field. The Committee is pleased to inform you that Neil Taylor has been re-appointed as the Club’s Senior coach for the 2013 season. The decision to re-appoint Neil recognises his outstanding efforts throughout the 2012 season and his achievements in getting the Senior team to its second GF appearance. Neil is West Coburg through and through and we look forward to him steering the whole playing group to success in 2013.
The committee is also very pleased to announce that it has appointed Ricky Baxter as Reserves coach for the 2013 season. Ricky has a vast experience in coaching at junior, U18’s and Reserves level. We welcome Ricky to our Club for the 2013 season.
Shane Francis expressed a keen desire to coach at U18’s level. Shane has a wealth of experience at junior level having coached teams at West Coburg in recent years. Shane was our Reserves coach in 2012 having achieved great success taking our Reserves to the Preliminary final.
Please join us in congratulating the above individuals to their respective appointments.

That's great news subway. Neil Taylor top bloke and will have learnt alot from last season. Is Shane Francis coaching he 18's? if so, what happened to the coach that took them through the season undefeated? Also is it true Marwin Abdul-wahed has joined his brother at Marby? And is it true the Burgers have signed a gun onballer from the Gippsland league? Apparently there are a few more signings coming up in the next few weeks my sources tell. What can you tell us.

To be honest, not too sure what happened to the under 18’s coach, would be stiff however I’m sure the club has it’s reason. I have also heard that MAW is leaving to follow his brother, with maybe another 1 or two players to follow. I hope it’s not true as he will be a massive loss to WC. WC have signed a onballer, of which pedigree I cannot advise as I haven’t seen play. By all reports is a very good footballer. I’m sure every club is in the same boat at the moment with a few signings here and there and a few more in the pipeline, WC I assume would be no different.

WCFC's win on the weekend will go down as one of their best in a long time for many reasons.
Battling to avoid last spot up against the number 1 on paper in Division 1. Nobody gave them a chance.
Can any Wests supporters or Subway let us know?

Can any Wests supporters or Subway let us know? Just a great team effort Brad, very proud of the players!!! First time I have seem them play four quarters of football this season. Many teams would agree WCFC can match it for 2 to 3 quarters but never the whole game this season. Hopefully the win we be the kick start we need...

Great to see West Coburg win 2 of their last 3 games. ALthough they are 4 games away from finals a couple of early losses to Taylors Lakes and Tullamarine have made a huge difference. The burgers are a proud club and have lost alot of players over the off season but will come back bigger and better next year. I havent ruled them out this year yet!

West Coburg Football Club welcomes Digby Morrell as Senior Coach
Monday October 14, 2013. West Coburg Football Club is pleased to announce that Digby Morrell has accepted the role as Senior Coach for 2014. Digby’s experience at EDFL level, and of course his AFL experience will provide the impetus needed at WCFC to challenge for a position back in the top level competition.
Playing 72 AFL games at Carlton and North Melbourne, Digby’s coaching started with the Northern Bullant’s and Digby has gained considerable experience in the EDFL including many finals and a Premier Division premiership with Strathmore in 2011.
West Coburg has always largely developed its list from home grown players, and Digby has expressed his eagerness in working with our young playing group to develop them and take the important steps required to return West Coburg to the Premier Division. We sincerely thank Neil Taylor for the last two years as Senior Coach. The most committed of club people, Neil stepped up during a difficult period for West Coburg taking control of the seniors in 2012. We look forward to seeing Neil back in a role after a well deserved year off from Football in 2014.

Massive news subway. What's the reaction around the playing group? Each and everyone of the players are extremely excited... After losing 2 consecutive grand finals then finishing fifth, it was just what the club and playing group required.
