The Northern Saints football club have appointed former Collingwood Ruckman Derek Shaw as Senior Coach for season 2011.
Derek played for Collingwood during the late 70's and early 80's. He later played for West Adelaide (85 to 86), and Greensborough in the DVFL (87 to 96). He later coached Reservoir, Greensborough and McLoed - all DVFL clubs.
A "meet the coach" day is being organised and will be advised shortly.
I'm sure all at the club would like to pass on their best wishes to Mocca in his new role at Avondale Heights and are looking forward to what Derek can bring to our emerging club.

As you are all aware the Northern Saints F.C. have appointed Mr. Derek Shaw as Senior Coach for season 2011. Senior Northern Saints players and a number of the club's junior players will be attending Fawkner McDonalds to run a handball competition for the kids, assisting McDonalds with this wonderful annual charity event.
McHappy Day raises money for McDonald House Charities, essentially for seriously ill children and their families assisting them live happier healthier lives.
So come down to Fawkner McDonalds on Saturday 13th of November, show your support, and in the meantime see how you fare with the handball competition.
Thanks to the senior players and all the junior players for giving their time for this wonderful cause.

I have heard that the Northern Saints are very close to making a deal with one of the better B Grade Comp players in Bassman Abdul Wahed last seasons 2010 medallist.
He will be a massive get for the club.
It will interesting though as he is contracted with Hadfield FC.

After last weeks successful return from injury of club great Age Luvara, it's great to see Dave Rees has committed to the club despite a big money offer from the red and black money machine up the road.

Its' a shame for the panthers, it's great to see some players stick thick with their club. I know he is held in very high regard at the club and the club never relented in getting him back after the hiatus of the BOPS boys back in 09?. I also hear a number of them are back and either as players or or interested on lookers. Good to hear. Great to see Luvara back at the Saints playing and I hear getting back to his menacing best. The chip on your shoulder continues to grow while PVFC put there noses down and bums up working hard to be successful. Its a level playing field you moron, and until you realise that the only thing that seperates PVFC from NC is hard work and dedicated volunteers. As for the player you mentioned I don't recall him and doubt very much that he was approached by PV , but if he managed to stooge a couple of extra $ out of NC good luck to him.

Yes, very highly regarded and great to have the big fella back, should make the saints forward line even more potent.
Just incase you missed it spiderpig, it's NS now after the merger with Fawkner. And every club is working just as hard, if not harder than yours for their success.
The Northern Saints committee have been working tirelessly to improve the facilities, as evidenced with the recent social room expansion and others in the pipeline, promote the game within the community (Fawkner Festival, Why B Active Festival) and develop a quality young playing list without spending outrageous amounts of money (currently have the last two under 18 comp b n f's in our senior team.)
We have no chip on our shoulder mate, we have a plan and are sticking to it, just as Pa$¢oe Va£e are. Ours is just a cheaper plan.
As for Reesy getting any extra money out of NS, he didn't. Our offer didn't change, he just realised mateship was more important.
