That’s right Matt…
Nat and Fort Caruso coming back to Melbourne after playing 3-4 years in SANFL. Both great players, with Fort a previous winner of the Morrish medal (best player in the TAC cup) when playing for Calder Cannons in there Grand Final year.
Derek Shaw hasn't had his contract renewed with Nat Caruso now taking over the coaching.
These two players will almost be the best two players in the comp in 2013, great pick up for NS.

Fletch 33 has beaten me to the punch! Massive news for the EDFL and Northern Saints Football Club to sign the Caruso brothers. They will absolutely dominate in Div 1 football and it is a real credit to Northern Saints and their committee in the way they have grown as a club over the last few years. SAINTS CELEBRATE HOMECOMING & ANNOUNCE NEW COACH FOR 2013 The Northern Saints Football Club, located in Fawkner, is celebrating today with the announcement that former juniors are returning home. Brothers, Nat and Fort Caruso have made the decision to return home and play with the Saints in 2013. The good news doesn’t stop there with Nat Caruso being confirmed as the Senior Coach for the 2013 season. The brothers are well respected for their football achievements to date and are still very much yet to hit their footballing prime. Both boys have impressive resumes, with Nat having played all his juniors with the former Moomba Park and Fawkner Park, and then progressing to the U18’s TAC Calder Cannons where he played in the 2003 Premiership side. From there he went on to play with local VFL side, Coburg Tigers from 2004 to 2008, playing in a grand final in 2007. Nat will return home shortly, after having completed a successful stint with SANFL powerhouse West Adelaide, where he recently played in the losing Grand Final. Nat has played for the “Bloods“ since 2009, having won their 3rd Best & Fairest in that year, and being a major contributor in their rise to the top. Fort Caruso equally boasts an impressive resume, having played junior football with the club and then progressing to the TAC competition for the Calder Cannons where he won the competitions Morrish Medal 2 years running in 2005 & 2006. Fort too will be returning home to play for the Saints in 2013, after having played at West Adelaide and being part of the 2012 Grand Final side. The Saints are quietly confident with their 2013 prospects. Former President, now U18’s Coach Peter Lohner said, We are genuinely excited about the return of the 2 boys back to the club. We have initiated some programs within our junior ranks are now very focused on building our junior program to augment the gains we will be making in our Senior teams, with the view that these kids receive the necessary development they need so they can transition seamlessly through to senior football“ Nat Caruso will be assisted by former player and club stalwart Daniel Foley who is making a return to the club. The Club has also appointed another former favourite son in Naz Gualano to take the reins with the reserves. Naz has an impeccable record coaching at junior and senior reserve level and will ensure the players will gel into a cohesive and competitive group. Newly elected Club President Mr Michael Caruso, is building on the great work and legacy left by former President, Peter Lohner. “I am lucky that I have been able to take over from where Peter left off. The Club structures are very good, and we have great people within our committee. Peter has formed a positive and constructive relationship with the EDFL and other club presidents something we look forward to him continuing as we strive to improve as a family oriented footy club. It’s great to see people becoming involved, and I look forward to watching them enjoy themselves as 2013 unfolds. I also look forward to talking to all our sponsor partners and bringing new sponsors on board as we look to a successful period in our history.“ said Michael Caruso. Training will commence on Monday 12th of November at 6.00pm at Charles Mutton Reserve, located off Lorne Street in Fawkner. ‘Go Saints 2013’ www.northernsaints.org.au/index.html?wid=43&func=viewSubmission&sid=849

Congratulations to the Northern Saints FC and their hard working committee on the signings of two of the best to come out of the Calder Cannons Football Factory.
As an EDFL board member we are extremely proud to have Fortunato and Nat come into our great comp.

Great get by northern saints. Wonder how much it has cost them for those two great players?

I'd assume they got them for we'll below market value. Former juniors and their Dad is the newly elected President. Plus one is coaching as well. Massive get for the club and the league, they could have virtually chosen any club to go to in any league and walked in. Well done to all down at Northern Saints on such a massive deal.

The draw will be much more even with less teams in the comp next season. I'm sure the boys will help draw a few more players across. Already plenty if talent down there, playing finals in 2010, with a bit more professionalism and some modern ideas they'll be big improvers in 2013.

What a great win by the Saints vs an experienced WC.
WCFC do not look anything like the team that won the 2nd semi last season.
Was impressed with the Northern forward line tall bloke Ali, Ferraro and Caruso's and some other little guy.
NS looked more physical also. WC should improve.
Looked like they copped a few injuries early that hurt.

Spoke with Matty Pillios who said he saw a few quarters of Northern Saints v W.Coburg.
Game was moved to ground next to main oval due to excess water. Saints start set them up the game and with 9 goals to 1 at qtr time they didn't look like losing.
WC showed some very good signs with a lot of younger players blossoming. None better than the athletic John Ikupu who is a powerful utility who kicked 5.
He said NS mature bodies like Mahmoud Taleb, Fidda Ahmed, Ahmed Taleb and Nazih Abbouchi were big differences.
Both Caruso brothers were good also and the Saints got to around 70 points late in the 3rd.
WC thought fought back well and taking away the 1st quarter and Beau Hopkins going off for the game with a collar bone injury ending his game they may get a lot of positives.
