In all honesty, Billy has done a fantastic job to keep you guys up this year and hopefully sets foundation for next year and beyond. You have some talented young players but definitely need some more experienced heads in there to help develop the younger guys.

He has been fantastic for the Club On and Off the field, and alot of the young blokes have come along way under him.
Hopefully they can pick up a few players experienced players over the summer so the club can continue to move in the right direction.

I've been told Mitch Hahn to Douttas for around 10 games. Close to signing a couple from Werribee Vfl.

Have heard that Douttas are working hard to improve their list for next season but can anyone confirm some signings?

Can't confirm any signings but can confirm their throwing plenty of money at other EDFL club's players...not sure how much luck they're having though

Great news for the Stars with the signing of recently delisted Richmond player Robbie Hicks. Robbie is a DS Junior and will be great for their young side. He is the son DSFC legend Ashley Hicks.

Plenty of recruits coming to D.S this year which is great, can anyone tell me which ones to look out for, as they all cant be 1's players. And can someone tell me honestly from the club how they think they'll go this year??, cause they've struggled the last few years and it would be good to see them win a few games and gain some momentum to push for finals again in the near future. Cheers

The player to watch for DS will be Justin "Spud" Kefaldt, who came from Coburg. A gun from what I hear.
Doutta's would be happy with their recruits, but are not spending as much as some other clubs. In reality I think they will be happy to aviod relegation, as this year is the most even in a long time.
Doutta's seem to just miss on some really big recruits. They would still be hurting about not getting Kane Johnson & Troy Simmonds. They were coaching the U/16's & going to play for the seniors the following season, but deal fell through.

Thanks for that westerly, from what I noticed over the years that hurt them is a big exodus of the better players at the end of every season, and that hasn't seemed to have happened this year which is good. Also they desperately need some bigger bodies, it's a long season and the young guys get smashed in the 2nd half of the year, so I hope a few of the recruits are some biggers guys.

What Doutta's have always seemed to do is keep their good juniors. They will try & avoid relegation this year, keep developing the kids & then recruit those bigger bodies & key position players next year.

The Stars had a great win on the weekend by 5 goals.
They have worked hard all pre season and are well coached. DS have great juniors and I honestly believe they can win 4/5 games to stay above relegation.
Round 1 at home is a massive game against Pascoe Vale. It sounds silly to say this about a round 1 game ..... but its like a mini final for the Stars.

It was great to finally have Jordan Barham (brother of Marcus) and former quality VFL & SANFL listed player playing in the EDFL for Essendon Doutta Stars.
Kicking 4 goals today for EDS, I am sure he will be a handful for opposition backlines over the season.

From the scores, looks like it was a pretty close game in the end down at Douttas on the weekend? Anyone got a rap up for us??
