Can't see Carey going to Hoppers. He signed on for 2 years when he left DS.
He lives locally, has all his mates down at Marby. He will have one more tilt at a flag & then retire I would think. His body has seemed to let him down more often than not.

Maybe he feels at a lower standard of Footy there's less chance of injury. Contracts are borderline meaningless at this level as Marby know only too well. Personally I'd like for him to stay in the edfl one more year for two reasons, he's been too good a player to go out this way and he and hollow playing could add a bit of added interest in the Greenvale vs Marby matches.

Ryan Crawford & Shan Broadbent going to Tatura.
Big losses, been valuable members at Marby over the past few years.

Marby to also lose Kane McKenzie, Chris Stewart, Kade Carey & a few others are still not 100% confirmed on staying.
Bit suprised Carey is going, but will play with mates at Hoppers.
McKenzie going back to where it all began at Altona, playing with good mate Anthony Chui.

Spoken to a few people at Marby who are very happy that people are writing them off. They have lost alot, but had some very good gains. They still expect to be there come September.

They'll be worse than last season while Abers/Strathmore/Gvale will have improved. They've added a few handy players, Black in particular should do well but when the majority of your side walks out it's hard to stay at the same level.

I don't think anyone should ride them off, I still think they have great top liners. A lot of people rode off Geelong last year.

Marby has lost quite a few great players from last year , but they will still be there abouts. No big name recruits except for Philpott and Black . I think it will be a good thing long term , there are some good young players in the mix. The biggest bonus is Brodie Holland back in charge, well respected by all the group.

Marby defeated West Preston by 40 pts in a very physical game, best were Philpot, Towner and Lee.

Marby Park beat West Preston @ WP by 38 points on the weekend, this is a great effort against a pretty strong side in NFL.
Marby still have 15 very good players and have picked up afew.
Brodie Holland from all reports is a very good coach and the boys respect him alot.
I wouldnt be surprised to see Marby in the last dance again.

Marby Park defeated an impressive East Keilor. Both teams had close to 7-8 out. EK did well only losing by 10 goals in the end.

Other main senior players that did not play were , Buttigieg, Boyd, M. Towner, Jackson as well as Livingstone and Holland. East Keilor for a B grade team were very impressive and should do well this year.

Matty has made sure a special mention has to be made to one of the E.D.F.L all time greats Paul Harrison back playing in the competiion (first time since 2008).
The man knowns as "Harro" & "the old Warrior" at the age of 42 was Marby's Parks best player in their Reserves win against Avondale Heights.
Well done..
