Can confirm that is spot on subway. Spoke to a prominent Marby man yesterday and confirmed the news. He also said that Bassman Abdul-Wahed & Fidaa Ahmad were also signed sealed and delivered. So Mo Kaakour has had he's xmas present come a bit early this year. He also told me that Marby has lost a least 18 players with most going to Deer Park. GA splashing the cash again.

Marby have picked up a former Collingwood VFL midfielder, who along with Stevie Baker and the Abul-Waheds will help fill the void created by Heath Ayres departure.

Paul Harrison rumoured to be Brodie Holland's assistant for this upcoming season. A former Premiership player with the Lions and a Premiership coach with Albion (WRFL) he'll be a valuable asset for the Marby Park footy club.

Not to mention flags with Abers (1995) and Douttas (1999) and probably a few more as well...

Haha, not a history lesson, just thought I'd add a couple more things to his CV as some people, not you of course, may not know just how much experience he offers as a player and coach..think he won a best in comp for east keilor as well but not really relevant either

Fantastic win from an undermanned Marby today. Abers looked flat in the conditions and Marby were able to cause turnovers and apply pressure to stay in touch until overrunning Abers with the wind in the last quarter. The Lions played the conditions far better, kicking long with the wind and getting numbers back when kicking against. Both Lee brothers were good all day as was the big fella Lachlan Thompson who finished with a bag of goals. Jack Anthony was another key contributor who swung back and forward each quarter, while Philpot was good in the ruck. Marby had really done their homework and managed to cut off a number of short passes from Abers who struggled to execute their game plan in the tough conditions. A great win for Marby who will use this as a springboard for the second half of the year.
Abers just need to bounce back from this next week and get back into the form that saw them undefeated for 8 rounds. No doubt the absence of key players hindered the two blues, but it was the numerous turnovers and missed shots at goal that cost them the game. Tipungwati was the Gorillas best player while Patak tried his guts out all day. A number of key players had off days and the Lions refused to go away and came home to deservedly win the game.
