WILDCOLONIAL BOY, great to hear how unfactual your last post was. I am sure you could facebook Livingston & Mclynn and they would tell you Aberfeldie FC easily outbidded any other club for them this time last year if they felt like it. More than likely if you know any of the Aberfeldie FC department they would tell you the same truth if they felt comfortable. Great news for Aberfeldie FC Senior squad as they have outbidded Greenvale and Keilor for the services of Courtney Johns and Hayden Skipworth. This is absolutely massive for such a great football club who have had minimal Senior success since the Paul Harrison days. The inclusion of these two players and the other recruits (Goullet, Glassford, Willi boys, Rae, potentially a WC footballer) will now put Aberfeldie with the Top 5. Great news for the Two Blues. Matty think its wrong to suggest Abers "easily" outbid all other clubs. Makes it seem like Marbi paid half what they got offered by Abers. There is no doubt that McGlynn and Livingston cited there main reason for not signing as because they wanted to play in a premiership. But there is no way you can try and tell anyone that Marbi paid them any less than they would have got from Abers or any of the other clubs. And if it was less it wouldnt have been much.

Bushpig (good name),
Mate, you are entitled to believe what you think. I am stating what both players told me.
If you saw them and they felt like asking they might just tell you for yourself. Again, mate believe what you think.
Probably better football issues to discuss, but I responded to a post.

Speaking of more improtant issues Matty, you thought about puting up an A and B grade ladder prediction thread? Be interesting to see people's thoughts...
It doesn't surprise me at all if Marbi paid less for Livingston and McGlynn...it was common knowledge they wanted a flag after losing a few and in hindsight they were spot on (although McGlynn was injured)...hence why I used the term 'trumped' rather than 'outbid'.

Your a funny man!!! Good call.
Mate, would love you or one of our great members to start the A & B Grade 2011 Ladder Predictions.
I advise posters to write a few comments after predictions.
I expect a few more Abers supporters now there team is the best on paper for such a long time.

Ladder prediction:
1-Matty Pilios' Marby 2-McGuane rapes Keilor of all their money 3-No Lucas = No Greenvale 4-The Aber Train - February premiers again 5-Oak Park - Can't think of anything funny for them, as nothing funny comes from Oak Park. 6-Strath NO more 7-Avondale reaches no Heights 8-Craigie "Let's punch the nuts out of each other" burn 9-Doutta "Got no players" Stars 10-Taylors "Why waste your time in A Grade" Lakes

Yes Matty I am a funny man! I did like getting you upset, made me laugh, but we know you like Abers..still good to see you get a little bit annoyed though Abers are pre-season premiers for the 10th year running!

Aberfeldie FC have secured the services of another Ex Essendon AFL player in Damien Peverill for season 2011, who will be joining the others for a great season.

Yes Matty another great signing for Abers FC...its pretty exciting down there at the moment Great news and a a big night at training last night for the boys with in excess of 60 on the track (Inc. 18's). The rumor circulating earlier in the week regarding a former A Grade multiple medalist must not have been in reference to champ Rabee as he was on the track too!

I heard the great Akermanis was explosive early on in the Praccy match vs St Mary's FC kicking the 1st 2 goals for Abers.
In a very even match the Aberfeldie team look to have improved a fair bit. Skipworth, Peverill were both very good in the game.
Good news on C. Johns with his knee injury more likely jarring and badly bruising. Still awaiting one more test.

If Abers can get Johns fit, he will get plenty of chances on goal with the likes of Skipworth, Pev, Rabee & Goullet feeding him the ball from the midfield.

Sad news for the Aberfeldie FC losing Star forward Courtney Johns now for the season after long testing with Bombers Doctor Bruce Reid, it will be confirmed he will have sit out the entire season.
