The whole EDFL Footy Team congratulates the Airport West FC in winning 2 Premierships for season 2012.
A massive effort. One of the most extrodinary games I have ever watched.
WC's start was extremely strong against such a strong outfit, but then whatever clicked in the APW's players systems 16 mins into the 2nd quarter changed their lifes forever.
A massive team effort for the Eagles.
Frank Agresta (cousin of EDFL players Mick, Scott, Dean, Roy, Glenn and many others) won the BOG medal.

APW have picked up 3 Geelong VFL players and talking to some good Northern FL players.
They look to be adding so real quality to compete in Premier Division.

Apparently they've signed Simon Hogan. Will be a great pick up if true... Surprised he hasn't tried giving it another go? He did show a bit at the top level.

I just wanted to pass on a well done to Adam Contessa, Ricky McVeigh and Alan Torrance as well as all the club on their fantastic Round 1 victory over Pascoe Vale FC on the weekend.
A huge statement by the 2012 Div 1 Premiers over the 2011 B Grade Premiers who should of played finals last season.

Always kept an eye out for APW and i must say they have been pretty competitive in all games that they have lost. i watched a few preseason matches aswell and the young exkeilor bloke Gauchi seemed to be flying but now he has vanished?
and the captain seems to have been missing aswell?

You have a keen eye re noticing the missing players. Yes they both have not played a game as they have been injured. Also like most teams AW have others missing also. Yes they have been not far off the mark in terms of matching the so called top sides. Greenvale seems to be the yardstick so far this season so we will get a better idea on AW after the first 9 rounds. All in all a great start for a team up from B Grade.

Word is that APW have secured the signature of ex North Melbourne player Gavin Urquhart. He should be another nice addition down there.

Spoke to Matty who said he watched a great contest between APW and Marby Park.
He said the Eagles put in a great performance early and used the ball well inside 50. Kenny, Sykes and Skorsis all featuring in the goals.
Marby really picked up the tempo and dominated the last 15-18 mins of the 3rd quarter. Holland, Smith, Black and the Lee brothers all dominating.
The last quarter was an arm wrestle and APW kicked some majors that got them the chocolates. Marby kicking themselves out of the game with 10 more scoring shots.
Well done to APW and they continue their massive start to Premier. Even more impressive was NO Harris, Hogan, Walsh and McVeigh.

APW on course for finals footy in their first year up which is really exciting. They're a really quality team and play a good brand of footy so it'd be great to see them in finals.
