Bit quiet on the Zig and Zag show (Rooney and KD)...
KD you need to really look outside the comp and stop calling contracted players in the edfl..... you have a healthy list why dont you try to develop some of your home growns...... APW need a new recruiter 3 years in a row and no finals what is the common dominator here........ Poor form once again.....

I am a KD fan and loved what the man did for the Comp in the late 90's -early 2000's, but he does definately have to stop ringing other EDFL players as his main recruiting tool.
I can understand with the bad behavior of Clarke & Balraj last season hurting the confidence of the club to chase outsiders, but as an EDFL man he should want to strengthen his club, not at other the other clubs expense.
Every club does get approached by players thinking of leaving which is fair enough, but APW FC would have more than anybody over the past 3-4 seasons of EDFL players being recruited from other EDFL clubs.

Obviously in an ideal world clubs would be able to source most of their recruits from other leagues but sometimes this just isn't possible. Surely what they're doing isn't that disimilar to what Marby/Paco have done in the past?

MP He's never rang me, then again glad he hasn't! The main reason players won't commit to the mighty AW is because of the green & white, worst colours in local football history. I cant think of any ? They have recruited plenty from outside the comp though which obviosily strengthens the league and its reputation.... |

Zerafa, Garbutt, janezic, price, the two West Coburg blokes who were still contracted at WC plus a few others. Though this isn't about Marby, it's about whether clubs should poach rival clubs players, to which I ask how is airport west any different to any number of other clubs? If players are willing to walk out surely it's more a reflection on them then the club that signs them.

Come on freak your generally spot on most other times.
Zerafa left Jets cause of his job at wharfs & could only play 9-10 H&A games, Garbutt came out of a year & half retirement and Janezic went down a level to play B Grade.
None were from opposition. My point with KD's recruiting is 8-9/10 have been from other EDFL clubs.

whats the big deal? im sure his not sigining the contract on their behalf?? thats footy mate and i can see it may upset people but lets be honest B grade is a little different from A grade recruiting with B grade you always have that ability to poach those fringe ones/twos players from A grade so of course its going to be a common trend.
as for marby you cant sit there and say that you havent recruited many from other clubs, may not be many but the ones you did played juniors and were a big part of their old clubs. Not a big fan of KDs work but thats footy guys.

I tend to agree with Freak, KD has form when it comes to targeting young finge players at A Grade clubs and unfortunately it is the trend at the moment but it doesn't make it right. I don't mind if players leave voluntarily but when young players are being tapped up then that is when it is frustrating.

Dont see what all the whinging is about A grade target fringe vfl and afl players B grade target fringe A grade player if you want your kids to stay play them and pay them its cheaper than buying merceneries and they usally have a better crack at the ball so either stop all buying players or shut up the whinging.
